Smiley Face Tote Bag by Anya Hindmarch is the new “Must-Have” of SS14

Image

It’s official that the Smiley face tote bag is the must have accessory for every IT girl this summer, according to the Daily Mail on the 16th March 2014.

Celebrity favourite designer Anya Hindmarch has teamed up with Smiley to produce the most luxurious tote bag on the high street for her A-list fans.

The Happy Shopper Tote has turned the ‘convenience bag’ into the ultimate fashion statement for 2014. The tote bag was originally designed for carrying groceries from the supermarket, however Hindmarch and Smiley have given this high street staple a fashion makeover and a celebrity price tag (£2,500) that will ensure it remains exclusive.

The Happy Shopper Tote is inspired by a passion for finding the beauty in the banal, a super luxurious take on the classic shopping bag. Crafted from printed python skin, it’s lined in soft suede with hand-painted edges. The short handles offer a more modern way to wear it, either hand held or over your arm.

The bag first caught the fashion world’s attention at Anya Hindmarch’s SS14 catwalk show back in September last year and just as it goes on sale, it’s being tipped by the fashion glitterati to be this season’s IT bag.

There are still many bag licensing opportunities available with Smiley this season, so don’t miss your chance to get involved in the hottest trend for 2014.

SMILEY takes centre stage at London Fashion Week

Smiley continued its long-standing tradition of keeping a ‘Smile is always in style’ on the runway at this weeks London Fashion Week, with the launch of the latest licensed collection from uber stylish London accessories designer Anya Hindmarch. This is the second season the designer has featured Smiley in its catwalk show.

The AW14 show, which took place on Tuesday 18th February 2014 in front of the cream of London’s hipster community at Billingsgate Hall and was appropriately titled ‘COUNTER CULTURE’, received critical acclaim from the fashion press.

Inspired by treating the everyday ordinary in an extraordinary way, Hindmarch took Supermarket conveyor belts and household items, such as cereal boxes, crisps packets and washing powder boxes, to the catwalk in a playful take on everyday life.

The show paid homage to some of the UK’s leading icons from supermarket shelves, whilst the finale was played out to ‘Get Happy’ by Judy Garland and featuring printed silk Smiley scarves and chic leather Smiley tote bags, to ensure a really good-feeling end to one of the highlight shows of AW14 London Fashion Week.

Smiley’s continued presence on the catwalk and the amazing press that has followed ensures the Smiley brand remains a must have trend in global fashion today.

Streetstyle fashion brand ‘Happiness’ gives Smiley the ‘Made in Italy’ treatment.

Image

Smiley is no stranger to fashion collaborations. A new edition to the edgy fashion partnerships of the year is with Italian uber-cool brand, ‘Happiness’ – a street style leader in Italy.

The premier launch for this collaboration was at Pitti Uomo in Florence, the leading fashion trade show which is been a launch pad for many successful brands in the past, and where the smiling yellow face got the chance to show for the first time his smiley t-shirts.

Happiness has prided itself on being innovative and original – much like our iconic Smiley. Their stand concept at Pitti was a perfect illustration of this; delivering crowds of onlookers for a real demonstration of Krav Maga, the Israel self-defence martial art with the Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis. Now that’s original!
