Nu Icons embraces Smiley’s past and mashes it up with our digital future.

This new and innovative apparel concept is ergonomic, bold and to the point, designed for the digital native where NuSmileys can be scaled across a multitude of media. It is expressive in its messaging and striking in its appearance. Utilising graphics across primary and bright colour palettes, often with fluorescent highlights, with a lean towards Smiley’s electronic music past and the nu rave movement. Whilst also creating a new digital music legacy for the present and future.

This collection is inspired by video gaming, clubbing and new media and features fluorescent and bright colours feature across 90’s inspired retro-feel designs, with fun slogans and bold prints leading the way. Pink, orange, yellow, green and monochrome pieces include crew neck t-shirts, long sleeve tops, vests and jumpers

For girls, cute captions including ‘love’, ‘be mine’ and ‘lucky’ feature alongside smileys transformed with heart and four-leaf clover digi-prints, while for boys there are more boisterous words such as ‘rebel’, ‘strong’ and ‘awesome’.

The Smiley Nu Icons illustrations are thick, regular and angled to compliment digital media’s natural design simplicity and immediacy.

SMILEY SHOWCASE LATEST COLLECTIONS AT BREAD & BUTTER BERLIN

Smiley are delighted to return to this year’s Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin after a 2 year hiatus, to showcase the latest collections to the most influential buyers, designers, press and fashion insiders in the industry.

For SS15, Smiley will be launching its latest offering from premium streetwear collection Smiley London and debuting Smiley World ‘new icons’, an apparel collection inspired by digital emoticons.

Smiley will also be exhibiting its latest technical accessories including sunglasses, headphones and skateboards.

These Smiley collections all take inspiration from the brand key influences; music, urban street culture, and colour, each of which is reflected throughout the brands stand design, which incorporates bright yellow colours, metallic mannequins and metal fixtures, the stand also has a futuristic feel.

Bread & Butter is one of the biggest trade shows in Europe, with 600 brands exhibiting over 3 days from the 8th-10th July at Berlin Tempelhof, and a public viewing in the evenings. This internationally prevailing trade show provides a creative marketing and communication platform for selected brands, labels and designers from the progressive segment that is unrivalled throughout the world.

Smiley celebrates the launch of new fashion range in Taiwan

As the happiness movement continues to gather pace as the latest global phenomenon, Smiley remains at the forefront of this.

Smileys unique brand mission to ‘Spread Happiness’ and serve its customers with some of the finest products in the world continues to cement the brand as a best seller with many of its major retail partners.

On Friday 5th July, Smiley launched a new partnership in Taiwan with fashion retailer CACO under a backdrop of brand activations.

This launch event took place at the Ximending Mall in Taipei, and featured games, ice creams, DJ sets, live band, dancers, a fashion show and the chance to win Smiley goodies.

The new SS14 collection is available in all CACO stores across Taiwan and targets men and women. Customers can choose from Smiley World designs, which use different emoticons, or the Smiley Original design.

The women’s collection features intimates, including pants and vests, in pastel colours, while the daywear range uses monochrome prints with highlights of yellow on cropped t-shirts, vests, leggings and shorts.

For men, bold designs on vests and t-shirts stand out, and colourful Bermuda shorts complete the casual daytime look.

Accessories also feature throughout this range, including hats, tote bags, purses and rucksacks.

Smiley winning at retail!

Happiness and the Smiley face has never been more relevant to consumers around the word then it is today, it continues to be a massive influencer of global pop culture.

Whether it’s Pharrell Williams ‘HAPPY’ topping the charts or Über fashion house Moschino rocking Smiley’s on the catwalk, even Katy Perry and her dancers have been decked out in Smiley on her sold out Prismatic world tour this year alone.

It therefore comes as no surprise to share news of another huge retail success for the happiest brand in the world.

For the 4th consecutive season, Smiley have collaborated with hip underwear retailer Undiz on a new licensed collection that is already proving to be a huge hit, having achieved record-breaking sales in its first week!

The new range, which includes, nightwear separates and underwear for women and men in a neutral colour palette of grey and white with highlights of yellow also features all over prints and embroidered Smiley faces.

Smiley gets ready for Wimbledon!

Everybody loves Wimbledon and Smiley have created a limited edition range of tennis inspired t-shirts and vests to celebrate this fantastic fortnight of grass court tennis.

These men’s and women’s styles feature traditional strawberries and cream, as well as tennis rackets and the famous grass courts of SW19, all in the guise of the iconic smiley face. The collection which has launched on smiley.com and Asos Marketplace this week and priced between £18-£24.

Happiness takes over the Smiley store!

Smiley and Italian fashion brand Happiness launched their latest collaboration on Tuesday 17th June with an exclusive press and bloggers event at the Smiley flagship store in Boxpark, Shoreditch.

Presenting the happiest fashion collection of the season from two champions of positivity, the event showcased the new Autumn range and was attended by some of London’s most influential fashion, lifestyle and music industry insiders.

Featuring collegiate inspired pieces, the collection also uses bold black and yellow colours, with highlights of white and heavily influenced Sports-luxe styling. Items includes sweat pants, loose vests, casual shorts, swimwear and mesh t-shirts; the original Smiley has a linear deconstruction.

The Smiley x Happiness new collection launches in July, and with comfort and style top of our list, we can’t wait to get our hands on it!

Smiley takes centre stage at London Collections: Men

Smiley led the way and continued its long standing tradition of ‘a Smile is always in style’ on the catwalk last night at the London Collections: Men’s fashion show, with the launch of the latest licensed collection from globally recognized fashion house Moschino by Jeremy Scott.

The Italian label made its London menswear debut on Monday 16th June 2014 and showcased the new SS15 collections in front of key fashionistas and celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan, Daisy Lowe and Pixie Lott, at London’s Lindley Hall.

Inspired by the brands history, exploiting designer logos (from Chanel to Louis Vuitton) and poking fun at high fashion and the status quo of consumerism, the Moschino collection elevated streetwear through humour and attitude. Smiley featured heavily across the collection, from colourful prints on sweaters and swimwear, to full-blown suits, shoes and accessories. Global flags were also used on pieces throughout the show, with the original Smiley transformed into an array of colours and nations.

Smiley’s presence on the catwalk once again highlighted the demand of happiness as a global trend, and ensured that the Smiley brand remains a must-have fashion trend today.

Smiley Celebrated its ongoing partnership with Super Club ’SPACE’ alongside thousands of clubbers and some of the best house DJ’s in the world. SEEN IN SMILEY THIS WEEK

It’s official “Smiley is topping the charts and the Premier League with celebrities this week.”

Despite having an unbelievably successful 12 months that included his band RUDIMENTAL topping the UK charts and even winning a Brit Award for “Best Single of the Year”, that didn’t stop Amir Amor from pulling a sad face for the Smiley cam. We hope that his Pony X Smiley sweatshirt and Smiley sunglasses cheered him up a little!

WALES International Joe Ledley on the other hand looked extremely Smiley in his mesh tee shirt. It’s difficult to expect anything other than happiness after the goalscoring midfielder played a huge part in CRYSTAL PALACE’S spectacular end to the Premier League season. Palace hauled themselves from the foot of the EPL to mid table safety with wins against Chelsea and an amazing comeback against Liverpool.

Smiley London launches SS14 collection!

Smiley launched its Smiley London Spring Summer 2014 collection on Thursday 6th March with an exclusive bloggers event at the brands flagship Boxpark store in Shoreditch. This hipsters showcase was attended by some of London’s most Influential fashion, lifestyle & music bloggers who were treated to an evening of Balearic beats, ice cold beers, goodie bags and some of the seasons hottest trends showcased in the new range that features; aertex, camouflage, tie dye, animal and Hawaiian prints on a summery colour palette of neon reds, ocean blue and aqua greens.

Both the launch event and the new SS14 collection takes influence from over two decades of block rocking beats, unforgettable raves and the unique fashions that keep London and Smiley at the forefront of global street culture.

Spring Summer’s back and Smiley and Etam are pleased to announce the retail launch of a new line of lounge and sleepwear.

Smiley have joined forces with Etam this spring summer 2014 to launch a collaboration that will see the iconic Smiley face emblazoned on a collection of loungewear and nightwear exclusively for Etam.

Smiles ’n’ stripes features; leisure shorts, pyjamas, tops and night dresses in luxurious cotton mixes, featuring sparkling Smiley embellishments with a dash of crystals.

Carlos Diez & Smiley AW14 Collection ‘Run Baby Run’ launches at Madrid Fashion Week

Smiley is proud to have continued its long-standing tradition of keeping a ‘Smile is always in style’ on the runway at this seasons Madrid Fashion Week.

The second collection between the two fashion houses showcased on the runway last night to critical acclaim from celebrities and key media.

The collection, aptly named ‘Run Baby Run’, was influenced by a sports-luxe theme. Pieces included jersey separates in autumnal black, brown and burnt orange with highlights of red, which featured the iconic smiley face throughout.

Carlos is a big fan of Smiley, and says of his second collaboration with the brand,  ”The Smiley icon is recognised around the world, bringing with it a message of happiness, positivity and a love for dance music. These were my inspirations when designing this collection; the smiley face is a way of translating our shared philosophy into my designs”

Milan Fashion Week: Happiness Gym gets Smiley

SMILEY debut’s at Milan Fashion Week: the popular yellow smiley face brand presents together with the Italian brand Happiness the new spring summer 2014 capsule collection, which reinterprets the spirit of Franklin Loufrani, father of the iconic smiling brand.

The location was Tortona Street in Milan, just in front of the White Trade Show, which has been inundated by international fashion journalists, who came to see the amazingly cool ‘Happiness gym’.

Guest of Happiness & Smiley stand included the popular champion bike trial rider Vittorio Brumotti, and the showgirl Giorgia Palmas, together with the international chef Carlo Cracco, who came with a hot dog van, to offer his speciality: Eggs a la Cracco Style.  At the event, even the famous writer Nicolai Lilin, author of the best seller “Educazione Siberiana”, which is being made into a movie with the actor John Malkovich, in the hands of the popular director Gabriele Salvatores.

The capsule collection SMILEY & Happiness  is a perfect match between SMILEY a club culture brand, which dominated the Londoner fashion in 90’s, and an Italian firm which is reinventing streetwear. SMILEY & Happiness collection is already available on My Closet store in Milan.

London Fashion Week: SMILEY & Anya’s Hindmarch’s SS14 collection

As part of Anya’s Hindmarch’s SS14 collection, a cheeky and Smiley inspired collaborative piece was launched at the end of her galactic catwalk show.

Drawing inspiration from the plastic bag made most famous in New York, Anya worked with Smiley to create a luxury python Smiley face shopping bag, printed with “Have a nice Day. Thank you!”

Presented from hanging wires, several of the must-have fashion accessories for 2013/14 were displayed between flying models and giant Smiley zorbals in the ceiling at the glamorous Central Hall in Westminster.

Named the ‘Happy Shopper’, it’s typical Anya’s British twist of humour to translate such a easily available plastic product into a desirable and limited edition piece which had heads turning on the final day of London Fashion Week.
